In dialogue with her own lived experience of mothering three young children, Joan has discovered the rich metaphor of Maternal Embrace with its layers of enfolding as a tool to describe encountering God's grace. This quiet day drawn on Joan's Masters in Spiritual Direction research. We explore scriptural references to God's maternal embrace and three motifs of mothering which articulate the experience of Gods grace as nurturing, enabling and enduring. You don't have to be a biological mother or father to participate in offering a maternal embrace as part of our ministry and as children of God we all enjoy this opportunity to rest into God's maternal embrace.

"Is the life I'm living, the life that wants to live in me?" (Parker Palmer )
What's of God...and what's not of God? What is God's leading? How do I find/follow it? If God's speaking, why can't I hear it? Am I the only one who has doubts about God? Where is God in the darkness? How do I work out who I am, and what I'm meant to be doing? This weekend retreat, held at Point Lonsdale, will be an opportunity to wrestle with these sorts of questions, with other young adults (approx age 18-30) seeking to be real and honest in their life and faith journey. It will incorporate discussion, some space, exploring various prayer and discernment tools, as well as discussion around a movie and the opportunity to connect with other faith wrestlers. Places are limited - maximum 20 participants. So book your place now! Registrations close Friday March 12.
