Taizé Worship
Sadly the Taize team have come to the decision that with a shrinking team over the next short while we need to take a break for the remainder of the year. The service on Wednesday, June 3 was the last Taize service for the year. We are hoping that we can review our decision early next year with the possibility of some changes to the format. Watch out for future developments.

Tuesday 18. Heaven All Around Us: Discerning the  Sacred in Everyday Life. 10.00am-12.30pm. Simon Holt. Cost-$15/$20. Silence, solitude, contemplation, retreat: these are the words most easily associated with spirituality. The trouble is, this is not the language of everyday life. While the moments of silence and contemplation may be life-giving, for most of us they are only ever moments. The rest of life is busy, demanding, noisy and full of people and responsibility. The questions we'll explore in this seminar are these: How do we discern God's presence amidst the chaos of everyday life? What spiritual disciplines help us to respond to God at the very centre of our daily tasks and responsibilities?

Wednesday 19. Life, the Universe and Everything! (3 of 3). 7.30-9.30pm. Neil Savage. $15/20.

Friday 21. Poetry Day. Your One Wild and Precious Life. 9:45am-3.15pm. Barbara Rautman. $15/$20. "Your one wild and precious life." (Mary Oliver's poetry) We will enjoy and reflect on some of Mary Oliver's poems and these will include poetry which reflects her love of the natural world and its luminosity, "our place in the family of things" and her discovery of faith. There will be group discussion and time for individual reflection/writing/art.

Sunday, 23 August. WellSpring Annual General Meeting. In the café area at 2.30pm.

SEPTEMBER 2009

Thursday 10.   Retreat Day. Spring Labyrinth Walk. 9.30am-3.00pm Margaret Donald. At St Margaret's Anglican Church, Pitt St, Eltham. (Melway 21 J7. ) $25/$30. The labyrinth has long been used as a form of prayer and meditation. It is a symbol of our daily physical and spiritual daily walk, and the journey to the heart. On this day we will have opportunity to walk an outdoor labyrinth and enjoy the beautiful Eltham surroundings.

Thursday 10. Dream Network. 1.00-3.00. $10.

Friday 11. Sophia Circles. (6 of 7) 10am-12.30pm. Judith Lynch.  $10.

Tuesday 15. Spirituality for Seniors. 10.00am-1.00pm. Judith Lynch. $15/20. When we were young we listened to scripture stories and were taught the moral standards that one was to live by. In adult life, as these values were tested, we either drifted away from religious practice or became actively involved in a parish or church community. Now, with greying hair, it becomes clear that religion is not just about religious beliefs and behaviour. It’s about who we are and how we respond to God. Spirituality for Seniors is an invitation to move more deeply into the spiritual dimension of life. Through a mixture of personal story, Scripture, symbol and prayer we will discover that our potential for continued spiritual growth still burns brightly.

Thursday 17. Celtic Style Worship Service. 8.00pm.
