PHOTOGRAPHY BY DAVID GEE
David developed an interest in photography as part of his job as an anatomical pathologist. As renal pathologist at Westmead in Sydney and Prince Henry’s in Melbourne, a key part of the role was to illustrate renal biopsies by high resolution photomicrography using both light and fluorescent microscopes, and also large B&W plate photography using an electron microscope.
Since retirement, he has swapped the high magnification lenses used in his job for wide angles! He has developed a love of landscape photography, especially in remote areas including Antarctica, South Georgia, Iceland, Greenland, Svalbard, Patagonia and Ethiopia. He finds untouched, wild places a source of reflection, almost as if the Creator God has only just finished His work. Lyn complains that there are just too many icebergs on the lounge room wall!
For many years David and his wife Lyn were members of Ashburton Baptist Church. They currently worship at St Luke’s, Vermont.
David’s photographs are available for purchase.
