In this two-day workshop from the Mental Health First Aid Course led by Marcell Koper, participants will gain an understanding
of mental health conditions and how to identify them, and learn how to assist without providing direct care
for the person. Some of the areas covered include mental health problems in Australia, depression, anxiety,
psychosis, substance use, mental health crises, suicidal thoughts and behaviours, non-suicidal self-injury,
panic attacks, traumatic events, severe effects of drug or alcohol use, and aggressive behaviours. This two-day
workshop is open to all. Spiritual directors can use this as Professional Development.
