A Contemplative Circle - every 2nd Tuesday of the month
Margaret Loftus will facilitate these Contemplative Circles, based on Parker Palmer’s Circle of Trust from his book, ‘A Hidden Wholeness’.
“The underlying foundation for a circle of trust is that we trust the inner teacher, the inner light of another person to guide them from within. Guidance cannot come from outside of a person. So the group must hold you faithfully in a space where you can listen to your inner teacher.” PP
The experience of a contemplative circle is to support the inner journey of each person in the group, to make each soul feel safe enough to show up and speak its truth, to help each person listen to his or her inner teacher.
By exploring a topic metaphorically, via a poem, a story, a piece of music, or a work of art that embodies it, we approach the truth ‘on the slant’ and the soul is more likely than usual to have something to say.
Each Circle includes a meditation or centering practice and a ‘third thing’, which is what is used to introduce the topic for the session. The participants are then given time and space to explore this topic and pay attention to what is evoked in them. They can write about it or paint or draw, however they choose to express it for themselves.
They are then invited back into the Circle to share what has emerged for them. No one is forced to speak. It is a gentle and invitational space and what is shared is honoured and listened to respectfully without comment. It is a deeply sacred space.
We need a minimum number of 8 people to go ahead.
This event is eligible for ABC and SKEBC sponsorship.
This contemplative circle is held every 3rd Tuesday of the month at the WellSpring Centre, starting 18 April.

As we gather together at this time so closely following Easter Day and in the season of Autumn, both can offer us much richness and wisdom. This day will provide a gentle space of silence to notice nature's gifts and listen for the invitations which may arise from the loving Creator Spirit within. This event is eligible for ABC and SKEBC sponsorship. ...
