Introductory workshop to 'The Wisdom of Prayer'

This introductory workshop course aims to introduce ancient/new wisdom of prayer and to expand our understanding of what Shakio Institute call ‘The Art of Prayer.' The main purpose of this unique wisdom is to evolve ‘Life’ itself and not only to help us quieten or relax the race of life. This is a journey of life, which shows us how experiences in the realm of body and consciousness can change the perception of the self, creation and divinity.

They will emphasise what the psychologist and philosopher Eugene Gendlin called “the thinning of life” and how we can open it again to the full intricacy that is implicit in every person and situation. No experience of Gendlin focus approach is needed in order to attend the introductory workshop.

In the introductory workshop the facilitators, Baruch Brenner and Dana Ganihar, will: 

• Introduce the approach as developed in Shakio Institute
•  Practice movements of The Art of Prayer
• Open space for questions and discussion
• Share details concerning upcoming learning opportunities

The 8 Gates of Prayer
Texts from ancient wisdom and Jewish mysticism that allow us to deepen our experiences
Experiential practices that are inspired by the work of Gendlin (the founder of the Focusing approach).

The course will be open to those who have done previous Art of Prayer courses, to go deeper as well as new students - and particularly relevant to spiritual companions /students, caregivers and anyone interested in deepening their experience and understanding of prayer.
